Your Brand Says it All!

As a graphic designer and student I have come to understand more and more that a brand can be lost if it’s identity isn’t memorable. As designers and visionaries, our job is to think, perfect and stress over combining all the components of a brand and present it in a unified and cohesive way. That is not easy.

Right now I am part of a group rebranding project, over the past 10 weeks and it has not been easy, sometimes I’ve wanted to scream at my teammates. The work is hard, the thinking is challenging but the payoff is always worth the headache. Although we have yet to complete the rebrand, I know that it’s gonna be a winner.

I’m always searching for inspiration to keep my mind fresh and my thoughts current to the trends. This rebrand of Optus Communications by Jason Little, Alex Creamer, Alexis Waller, Marco Palmieri, Brad Stevens and RE: is a perfect example of the tedious and precise process designers go through to create a long lasting and recognizable brand.

Does your environment speak to you?

As a creative, one of the greatest accomplishments is to create something that a person can engulf there whole selves into. That’s what successful environmental design does.
When you walk into a retail store or a coffee shop or a movie theater and not an inch has been left to chance, everything has been gently finessed to say “hey there, welcome to …. (wherever)”. There are many design studios as well as large agencies that have executed environmental design with impeccable taste. One of the most common environmental design we all have seen is that of hospitals. We’ve all been to one, that hospital where you as soon as you walk into the door you feel peace and serenity.
These images are a great example of how much detail goes into environmental design. Everything from signage and way finding to lighting treatments and color.

How cool is this?
